PRESS RELEASE: PUBLIC PRESENTATION OF TREE MANAGEMENT PLAN
February 11, 2020
The Village of Lancaster will host a community forum to address the needs and opportunities surrounding the Village’s urban forest.
Lancaster – February 11, 2020 – An opportunity for the public to learn about the recently completed Village Tree Inventory and examine the proposed Tree Management Plan will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020, at 7:15 P.M., as part of the regularly scheduled Village Board Meeting. If approved by the Board, this Management Plan will serve as the guiding document for Village decisions regarding tree planting, maintenance, and preservation. This free and open event will include a presentation by Lori Brockelbank, consultant with Davey Resource Group, of the findings and recommendations for preserving and improving the quality and care of the Village trees. Members of the community are invited to bring their questions or concerns regarding Village tree care, as well as their suggestions for activities and events to encourage community participation in tree maintenance.
Following the presentation, the Tree Management Plan and a short community engagement survey will be available on the Village website, www.lancastervillage.org . Community members are invited to participate in the survey even if they are not able to attend the public forum.
For further information, please contact Michael Stegmeier, Village Clerk/Treasurer, at mstegmeier@lancastervillage.org or by phone at (716) 683-2105.
